Ashland Wanderer

These rangers are used to wandering the desolate ashlands of Chardenfell. They know the lore and languages of darkness and the hazards and customs of those dreadful caves inhabited by ash-blighted monsters.

Level 3: Hardened Veteran

You gain proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice: Acrobatics, Animal Handling, Athletics, Investigation, Medicine, Nature, Perception, Stealth or Survival. You can choose to gain proficiency with thieves' tools in place of one skill choice.

Level 3: Ashen Senses

Whenever your vision is obscured by ash storms, or a similar hazard, you gain blindsight out to 30 feet as you have learned how to watch the flow of these fine particles carefully. You also gain advantage on Stealth, Perception, and Investigation checks in these conditions.

Level 7: Ashen Defenses

The harsh environment of the ash have taught you how to better evade danger. If you are hit by an attack while wearing light or medium armor, you can roll a d6 as a reaction, adding the number rolled to your AC. If the attack still hits, you take half damage from it.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a short or a long rest.

Additionally, you have resistance to Fire damage.

Level 11: Volcanic Redirection

Through your study of magic, you have learned how to redirect the flow of lava and heat out in the ash, a vital survival skill.

Whenever you or an ally would take fire damage, you can choose to have the damage dealt to any target of your choosing within 30 feet. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
