Spellblade
Spellblades are as skilled with arcane magic as with their weapons. This versatility is a weapon in itself, often surprising enemies who tend to think an armored fighter cannot cast spells.
Level 3: Spellcasting
Cast wizard spells and cantrips from the wizard spell list. Intelligence is your Spellcasting Ability. The same spellcasting rules of an Eldritch Knight apply, listed at the bottom of this page for ease of access. One addendum: you can use any melee weapon you are proficient with as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells, and can perform their somatic components with the weapon instead of your hand.
Level 3: Battle Mage
Being next to a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged spell attack rolls. Also, whenever you cast a spell on your turn, you gain the benefits of the dodge action until the beginning of your next turn.
Level 7: Battle Cantrips
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of the attacks with a casting of one of your Wizard cantrips that has a casting time of an action.
Level 10: Minor Telekinesis
As a bonus action, target a creature within 60 feet and move it 5 feet in any direction if it fails a Strength save against your Spell Save DC.
Spellcasting Rules
You have learned to cast spells. See the Player's Handbook for the rules on spellcasting. The information below details how you use those rules as a Spellblade.
Cantrips. You know three cantrips of your choice from the Wizard spell list. Ray of Frost, True Strike, and Prestidigitation are recommended.
Whenever you gain a Fighter level, you can replace one of your cantrips with another eligible Wizard cantrip of your choice.
When you reach Fighter level 10, you learn another eligible Wizard cantrip of your choice.
Spell Slots. The Spellblade Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your level 1+ spells. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a Long Rest.
Prepared Spells of 1st+ Level. You prepare a list of the level 1+ spells that are available for you to cast with this feature. To start, choose three level 1 Wizard spells. Disguise Self, ** are recommended.
The number of spells on your list increases as you gain Fighter levels, as shown in the Prepared Spells column of the Spellblade Spellcasting table. Whenever that number increases, choose additional Wizard spells until the number of spells on your list matches the number in the Spellblade Spellcasting table. The chosen spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For example, if you're a level 7 Fighter, your list of prepared spells can include five Wizard spells of level 1 or 2 in any combination.
Changing Your Prepared Spells. Whenever you gain a Fighter level, you can replace one spell on your list with another Wizard spell for which you have spell slots.
Spellcasting Ability. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your Wizard Spells.
Spellcasting Focus. You can use an Arcane Focus as a Spellcasting Focus for your Wizard Spells.
